Extended Balaclava — V2 Bamboo/Black
Why bamboo instead of silk
Silk has been the standard for hair protection for a reason: it's smooth, so it doesn't grab, tug, or rough up your cuticles. Bamboo does the same thing. The fiber is naturally round and slick, so your hair slides against it instead of catching- same frizz protection, same friction-free finish.
The difference shows up the second you put a helmet on. Silk traps heat and holds moisture against your scalp. Under a full-face at 70 miles an hour in July, that turns into sweat with nowhere to go. Bamboo breathes and wicks; it pulls moisture off your skin and releases heat instead of building it. You get silk's protection without silk's swamp.
That's the whole point. A bonnet is for sleeping. This is for riding.
Built from scratch. Sewn in bamboo.
This is the mask the Founders Batch was built to earn. Not a fabric we picked off a shelf, a shell we developed from the ground up, tested on real riders, and revised until it did the one thing it had to do: protect your hair without cooking your head.
Thirty inches of full coverage, top to drape. The rear panel is asymmetric: 15 inches on the long side and 14 on the other, so the drape falls clean over locs, braids, or a bun, no matter how you wear it or what size head you have. Nothing crushed under the helmet. Nothing hanging out in the wind.
Why it costs what it costs
We didn't source this from a catalog. The shell was developed from scratch across multiple revisions and sample runs, with the fabric spec rewritten until it held up under a helmet. That's the price you're seeing — real development, small batches, and a fabric that costs more than the cotton blend we tested with.
You're not paying for a logo. You're paying for the version that works.
